HelmLink · Beta program

Put HelmLink on your boat. Free for beta testers.

HelmLink is a small hardware bridge between the Pathr app and your boat’s NMEA 2000 network. Apply for a unit, install it and use it on the water, and help us bring HelmLink to more boats and more autopilots.

Is the unit really free?
Yes. The HelmLink unit is free for beta testers.
Which boats can apply?
Boats in the US. HelmLink joins your boat’s NMEA 2000 network and reads the instruments already on it: GPS, depth, wind, engines, fuel and batteries.
Does it steer my autopilot?
In on-water testing, HelmLink steers Raymarine Evolution autopilots with a p70 or p70s control head: engage, Standby and heading changes from Pathr, and following your Pathr route waypoint by waypoint. Other brands are not supported yet; beta testers help us add them.
Who’s in command?
You are. Press and hold to engage, big turns ask you to confirm, and Standby is always one tap away. If the phone’s link drops, the autopilot keeps holding its heading instead of letting go.
Which phones?
iPhone and Android. HelmLink is a small box with no screen of its own: Pathr on your phone is the screen.
What happens after I apply?
We review every application and email you about next steps. Questions before then? Email team@smartsail.ai.
